I want to make user inputted phone number in an edittext to dynamically change format every time the user inputs a number. that is, when user inputs up to 4 digits, like 7144, the edittext shows "714-4".. On my android 2.3 phone i've exported my contacts and imported them on my new android 4.4 phone, a motorola g. unfortunately, i found no way to edit the contact. when i open the "phone" application from the main screen, i click "all contacts" (translated) to get the list of all contacts.. Change contact details. open your device's contacts app . tap the contact you want to edit. tap edit . if asked, choose the account. enter the contact’s name, email, and phone number. to enter more information, tap more fields or the down arrow . to change the photo for a contact, tap the photo, then choose an option. tap save..
Except for the professional android contacts editor, of course there is another basic method to edit contact information on android phone with the contacts app on android device directly. it is a common way for many android beginners to add contacts to contact list or change the contact info.. Aparently i have a me in my contacts i guess is shown to other android users in addition to what they have my # saved as or what caller id shows. i aparently entered jumbled letters for this and cant delete or edit it. i also have a few other contacts i made while tinkering that dont have phone numbers.. You can load messages with this app and edit the message body, date, sender or recipient info, any way you want. it can be useful if you want to fix any sms errors or just want to edit message..
