Breach and Clear Guides
Gameplay
Breach & Clear is a turn based strategy game where players can control troops that will have to breach areas and clear them room by room. Soldiers can be controlled individually, allowing players to command where they would be positioned, what actions they would do, and where they would be looking at. Items can be purchased to be used in missions, and weapons can also be customized using attachments to make your squad better during engagements.
Soldiers
The game allows players to control squads modeled after real lie military groups such as the U.S. Navy Seals, the Army Rangers, and Canada’s JTF2. Players can control four soldiers, and players can assign roles for each. Each role has specific special attributes known as tactics, and they can also level up specific attributes such as speed, health, accuracy, and many ore using skill points earned when participating in missions.
Weapons
Different weapons can be purchased using silver earned when completing missions. Premium weapons can also be purchased using stars, which serve as the game’s premium currency. Attachments can be purchased and equipped in the Workbench, which can increase a weapon’s damage, rate of fire, and many more. Soldiers can have different loadouts, and being able to equip the correct armaments suited for the mission is very important, requiring players to prioritize spending currencies on purchasing and upgrading weapons.
Items
Aside from weapons and attachments, players may also purchase gear and consumables. Gear would include helmets and armor that can help resist damage and increase some stats, while consumables include grenades, lock picks, and health items. Like weapons, these would require currencies to purchase, and soldiers must bring them along in missions by equipping them. Using items constitutes as one action, although some soldier classes would allow the use of items while still being able to perform actions during a turn.
Breaching
Breaching pertains to when soldiers would be entering a room. Most rooms will contain enemies, although these are not visible to the player until the soldiers have already entered the area. There may also be multiple breach points, and the player can choose to enter a room as a single unit or have coordinated attacks from multiple points. Players can also have multiple breach methods such as kicking down a door, blasting a door using a shotgun, or using a lock pick or explosives.
- Probably the most important choice that you make in the game is selecting the role for each of your team members. Don’t do it randomly and pay a big deal of attention to this (we’ll talk more about what each role does and a suggested squad setup for best results.
- I found that the best way to approach each mission is to keep your team together. Rarely splitting them up in two is a good choice and should only be done when you are confident that your men have enough skill and firepower to resist on their own – and only do it if you want to quickly swipe through a mission for more stars. At all other times, keep the team together.
- The consumables are really valuable and they are not overly expensive. Make sure to get into your missions with a fair deal of grenades and medkits and don’t be afraid to actually use them (especially the med kits when your team members are injured).
- Always search for and stay in cover. There is no reason to keep your men exposed. So every move of your soldiers should end in a cover point, preferably full cover (the shield is full) and with maximum visibility around.
- Did you accidentally tap the wrong square to move to? You can actually change that (it took me a while to figure it out): simply hold the finger on the position and drag around to set a new move target.
- Level up your players based on their role in your team. If you have a Fireteam Leader with the Draw Fire perk activated, then you clearly want him to have high health and evasion. A Breacher, on the other hand, should have a high explosives rating (and, of course, grenades on him!)
- Each soldier has more perks than those you see listed in their description (unlocked every 5 levels for the first 15 levels, then at level 25 and 30). These are extremely useful and we’ll try to make a list of them all below.
- Replay missions: Every mission can be played more than once to increase the stars gained, or played on increased difficulty. The faster you complete a level and the less injury your soldiers take, the more stars you will earn per each mission.
- Try to have your squad cover as much space as possible: if an enemy is not in the direct line of sight of your soldiers, they will not be shot at. That’s why one extremely important element in planning the strategy is to make sure that you always have the whole room covered.
Breach and Clear Tips tricks
1. The Basics of Breaching
Once an area has been breached, it is important to take cover immediately after entering a room in order to avoid getting attacked. This is especially necessary when entering close quarters or in areas where you might get ambushed. It would also be wise to enter with at least two people per group, one for positioning, and the other for support should there be one or more enemies present.
2. Each Solider Has Unlockable Perks
Every soldier in the game that comes in handy for several harrowing situations. A perk will be available from level 1, of course. New perks also unlock for each of them once they hit levels 5, 10, 15, 25 and 30. We’re going to start listing the perks that your soldiers are equipped with at level 5 (since you’ve already seen those level 1 perks):
- Fireteam Leader: Close Knit: Stats are boosted when near teammates.
– Weapons Sergeant: Suppressing Damage: Damage is dealt during suppressing fire.
– Breacher: Frag Pro: Grenade damage is increased.
– Medic: Medpack Plus: Medpacks now affect all teammates who are within range of the medic.
– Intelligence: Lookout: Within a certain radius, enemies will be revealed on the map as the intelligence soldier moves around the map.
– Direct Action: Under Pressure: Bonus POINTS to accuracy when under fire; can stack if under fire from multiple enemies
3. Always Stick to Cover
This is purely common sense, but some of you gung-ho gamers out there need to be told this at least once – keep your soldiers a lot safer by sticking to cover. It’s much better to flush out your enemies by flinging a few grenades instead of throwing your soldiers in their line of fire. If you do feel like engaging directly a lot more than sticking to cover, use those Navy Seals. They’re much more equipped when it comes to taking out enemy units.
4. Take Advantage of That “Throw and Go” Ability
- Flasher (level 10): Flashbang effectiveness increased
– Hard Shelled (level 15): Reduces damage the soldier takes from grenades
– Cover Pro (level 25): Half cover is the same as full cover
– Catch! (level 30): Can throw 2 grenades in one turn
Skill: Increases distance to throw grenades and radius of effect
5. Two-Person Teams May Be Beneficial, But Rely on Full Squads Too
Splitting up your teams may help you cover more ground and get the jump on enemies, but its still a risky move. Engage two-man squads when you know you have two strong squad members on both sides. You’ll have a much easier time completing missions when your fireteam is whole. But if you want more stars on a completed mission, the split-up team scenario is the way to go.
6. Replay Missions for Extra Stars and Experience
Every mission in the game can be played multiple times. Do this to increase you star level and get faster completion times. Once you have stronger soldiers, use that two-team method to clear out those first few levels. You probably won’t have a problem completing them the second time around…
7. Know Who to Level Up ASAP
Level up your players based on their role in your team. If you have a Fireteam Leader with the Draw Fire perk activated, then you clearly want him to have high health and evasion. A Breacher, on the other hand, should have a high explosives rating (and, of course, grenades on him!)
8. Set Up Teams With Soldiers That Buff Each Other
Make sure each soldier complements the other by mixing the different classes, all of which have signature strengths; the list includes Fire Team Leader, Weapons Sergeant, Breacher, Direct Action, Medic and Intelligence.
9. Make Less Noise; Use Your Boots To Start A Breach
Blasting open a door with some guns or grenades may net you some extra brownie points, but it also brings some unwanted attention. Enemies hear that and they’re sure to come knocking on your door once you complete your current breach. Kick in those doors instead of blowing them to Kingdom Come. Your breach will be a success and none of your enemies will be aware of your presence (yet…).
10. The Basics of Weapons
Different weapons can be purchased using silver earned when completing missions. Premium weapons can also be purchased using stars, which serve as the game’s premium currency. 10 amazing things a smartphone can do and you probably dont know about
10 amazing things a smartphone can do (and you probably dont know about)
by Wapmark
Gone are the days when a cell phone was used for nothing beyond calling and texting. Today, we have smartphones, and their versatility is undisputed. They take photos and videos, send emails back and forth, allow us to access the web, and run apps of all kinds. They have become a tool for handling finances and for managing agendas. They can entertain us when were bored and they can find us when were lost.
Did you know, however, that a smartphone could also diagnose your car, read chips embedded in documents, and even act as a do-it-yourself microscope? If this has made you raise an eyebrow, then these peculiar jobs a smartphone can perform might surprise you. Just flick through the slideshow below to learn more. And as always, your comments are greatly appreciated!
View As Slideshow »
10 peculiar things a smartphone can do
1. Detect infrared light
Our eyes cant see it, but digital cameras surely can. A smartphones camera is indeed sensitive to IR radiation, and if you want to try it for yourself, just use a common IR remote control. The infrared beam emitted when a button is pressed will show as white or purple light in the viewfinder of your camera app. You can use this trick to check if a remote controls batteries are dead when it stops working.

2. Read data from passports using NFC
Many countries now issue passports with embedded RFID chips. These store data about the documents owner, including their photo and a scan of their fingerprint. And apparently, some of the owners information can be pulled using a smartphones NFC radio and an app made for the purpose. This, however, isnt going to work with all passports. Take a look at this thread over at XDA-Developers to learn which countries passports can be scanned with a smartphone.

3. Pair with a Bluetooth headset for an improvised remote camera shutter
As you can see in the video, Bluetooth headsets can be used as remote shutters for a smartphones camera. This would let you take photos from a distance – perfect for spies at heart! Theres a catch, however. You shouldnt be expecting this hack to work with just about any headset. Whats more, youre on your own in figuring out which button or button combination makes the camera go off.

Yup, your smartphone can mine Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Youre not going to become a billionaire overnight, however. In fact, youll probably be making a few cents per day even on a high-end phone. Thats why using a smartphone for the purpose is anything by practical, not to mention that the burdening task would quickly make its internals heat up. Still, it cool knowing that a smartphone can be a Bitcoin miner, albeit a humble one.

5. Help cure cancer
Believe it or not, a smartphone can be used in the fight against cancer and other hard-to-cure diseases. Using a free app called Samsung Power Sleep, one can donate the computational power of their mobile device for the cause. The software analyzes data at night, while connected to a charger, and then uploads the results to help researchers in their anti-cancer studies. HTCs Power To Give app works in a similar fashion, and processing power can be donated to various medical, environmental, and scientific projects.

6. DIY microscope, just add water
Amazingly, it just takes a drop of clean water on the camera lens to turn a smartphone into a DIY amateur microscope. The drop of water, which naturally adopts a round shape, acts as a lens, allowing the camera to focus from a distance of under half an inch. The steadier your hands are, the clearer the image is going to be. Needless to say, be careful when you try this as you dont want to get any water inside your handset. The picture you see here has been taken with an LG G2 using manual focus and a flashlight illuminating the subject.

7. Perform car diagnostics, OBD-II
An OBD (short for on-board diagnostics) is a device that plugs into a cars computer unit. It is used to monitor the status of the vehicles systems and to diagnose problems that might have occurred, as indicated by that cryptic yellow light on your dashboard. And with the help of a dongle that you can buy online, your smartphone can serve as an OBD that reports car data in real time. Youll need an app as well, of course, and we have just the thing. These are some of the best OBD car apps available on Android.

8. Connect to a USB stick or a mouse
Thanks to Androids USB on-the-go functionality, we can connect most common USB devices to newer Android-based smartphones and tablets. USB sticks can be hooked up for file transfers, and a connected USB mouse can be used for navigating the UI. Youll most likely need a USB on-the-go cable to pull this trick off, however, although some cool new USB drives come with both a micro- and a full-sized connector.

9. Measure distances with a camera
You might be surprised to know that this actually works. Well, kind of. Distance measuring apps cant match the precision of an instrument made for the purpose, but they should prove good enough when a rough measurement is sufficient. They use trigonometry to calculate the approximate distance between the user and a visible object. To get the distance, you just have to input the height, at which youre holding the smartphone, and to aim the crosshair at the base of the object.

10. Measure altitude and air pressure
And speaking of measurements, a smartphone can provide (somewhat reliable) altitude data using its GPS radio. Newer models can also detect their position above sea level and atmospheric pressure using a built-in barometer.
